FAQ

Voicecel test — frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the free online voicecel test, voice frequency ranges, accuracy and privacy.

What is a voicecel test?

+

A voicecel test measures your speaking voice's fundamental frequency in Hertz. The free online voicecel test classifies you on a scale from deep voice chad to voicecel based on that Hz reading.

Is the voicecel test free online?

+

Yes. voiceceltest.com is a 100% free online voicecel test — no signup, no paywall, no recording stored.

How accurate is the free online voice frequency analyzer?

+

We use autocorrelation pitch detection and take the median across hundreds of samples in a 10-second window. In a quiet room with a decent mic, results are within ±3 Hz of professional voice-analysis software.

Does the voicecel test work on mobile?

+

Yes. The free online voicecel test works in any modern mobile browser that supports the Web Audio API — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge on iOS and Android.

Do you store my voice?

+

Never. The voicecel test runs entirely in your browser. No audio, transcript, or Hz reading is uploaded or persisted anywhere.

Why did I get a different result the second time?

+

Voice pitch is naturally variable — hydration, emotion, time of day, posture and microphone placement all shift Hz by 5–15. Run the voicecel test online a few times and average the results.

What's the difference between a chad and a voicecel?

+

In voice-rating slang, a chad has a deeper, more resonant voice (under ~115 Hz) while a voicecel has a higher, lighter speaking voice (115–145 Hz). Above 145 Hz is colloquially called 'it's over'.

Can I train my voice to score lower on the voicecel test?

+

Pitch is largely set by vocal fold mass and length, but resonance and perceived depth can be improved with vocal exercises, posture and breath support. A few Hz of natural deepening over time is realistic; dramatic drops are not.

Why is my voice higher in the morning?

+

Vocal folds swell slightly overnight and warm up over the first few hours of the day. Take the free online voicecel test after you've been speaking for a while for a more representative reading.
